Company history began in 1852 when John Taylor found out that supplying equipment and chemicals to gold mining, laboratory and assay markets was more profitable than gold mining itself. Today VWR International, LLC, headquartered in Radnor, Pennsylvania, is a global laboratory supply and distribution company with worldwide sales in excess of $4.1 billion in 2013. VWR provides customers with an expansive choice of premiere products, such as chemicals, furniture, equipment, instruments, apparel and consumables, from a vast group of leading scientific manufacturers.

The DWK Life science combines the strengths of a great history with the visionary spirit of the founder of borosilicate glass technology, Otto Schott. Its glass has proved itself over the last 120 years not only in laboratories but also in industry and the home. Group has established a quality management system that conforms to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 and which is integrated into daily practice. DWK Life Sciences has brought together three leading manufacturers of precision glassware, laboratory consumables and specialty products for life sciences: 1. Duran – high-precision glass products. 2. Wheaton – Laboratory, chromatographic and cell culture products. 3. Kimble – specialized products in the field of natural sciences. Product manufactured in the US, Mexico, Europe and Asia, so not only will it offer a great range of products but also provide more flexibility and proximity to customers.

In 1887 the brothers Carl and Fritz Buddeberg established the Company
Gebr. Buddeberg – that time a small optician’s shop in Mannheim. Now
Buddeberg products and installations can be found in many laboratories,
operating within a broad range of analytical and production fields.
Among six other companies, Buddeberg GmbH is a founding member of
the LLG GmbH. LLG brings together the combined strength of 28
independent laboratory supply companies from across Europe and each
partner has direct access to the central warehouse in Meckenheim with
its storage capacity of 9,000 m2
