Description
Molecular biology is a chemical approach to biology that deals with chemical (molecular) basis of biological activity. Typical research in this area involves the study of interactions between different types of nucleic acids and protein biosynthesis as well as the study of regulatory mechanisms for the mentioned interactions. This field is closely related to genetics and biochemistry thus similar techniques and equipment is often used, i.e. expression cloning, PCR, gel electrophoresis, blotting and many others.
