Company history began in 1852 when John Taylor found out that supplying equipment and chemicals to gold mining, laboratory and assay markets was more profitable than gold mining itself. Today VWR International, LLC, headquartered in Radnor, Pennsylvania, is a global laboratory supply and distribution company with worldwide sales in excess of $4.1 billion in 2013. VWR provides customers with an expansive choice of premiere products, such as chemicals, furniture, equipment, instruments, apparel and consumables, from a vast group of leading scientific manufacturers.

SciLabware Limited is a relatively new name but the Company has a
long and distinguished history. Currently it is one of the world’s leading
manufacturers of laboratory glassware and laboratory reusable
plasticware, supplying the scientific community with world renowned
brands. Extensive range of glass and plastic labware comprises over
3000 general purpose and specialised products carrying some of the best
known names in science – Azlon®, MBL®, Pyrex®, Quickfit® and
Rotaflo®. In 2011 the business became part of the DURAN Group – one
of the world’s leading manufacturers of borosilicate glass.

Hahnemuehle has been known for its distinguished, high quality filter papers for more than 130 years. In the past, these worldwide, well recognized papers were sold by Schleicher & Schuell all over the world and are used as the standard for laboratory filtration. Hahnemuehle became independent when S&S was taken-over by Whatman in 2004. Nowadays experts continue to develop and produce filter products made of paper and glass fibre. Hahnemuehle always knows how to develop new sorts of filter papers and to manufacture them according to the market and individual customer needs.
