Description
Refractometers are used to measure index of refraction. Traditional and digital handheld refractometers are simple instruments commonly used outside of scientific communities while laboratory measurements are usually performed with more precise Abbe refractometers. These devices are capable of performing multi-wavelength measurements and maintaining a constant sample temperature with a solid-state Peltier element. The software on most of current instruments offers features such as programmable user-defined scales and a history function that recalls the last several measurements.
